Expired products sent-twice!,
by J. M. Charon, 2010-03-26
A much needed and super useful product for my business.
Ordered TWICE and BOTH times AMAZON sent products manufactured from Oct. & Nov. 2006. First battery would not charge--- I called Amazon to alert them and a free return label was provided. I was also told that the replacement battery would be delivered as PRIORITY 2 DAY shipment. I did NOT receive it until almost 9 days later. I called Amazon expressing my great disappointmet with EXPIRED non functional product and the broken promise of fast replacement.
The new replacement was STILL an expired/outdated product------newer yes, BUT by only 1 month, manufactured Nov. 2006 instead of Oct. 2006! I called and alerted AMAZON AGAIN. I did however, was able to charge the battery and kept it being assured from AMAZON that the ONE YEAR warranty was good from the date of PURCHASE---NOT manufactured dated on battery.
I've used this battery with good success.
Amazon people were nice and did their best to assist me and to help make up the problem, credited my account. Amazon did say they'd pull this EXPIRED product off their site.
Thank you AMAZON.
DOA - Split wide open on arrival,
by J. S. Holmes, 2010-03-12
I ordered this with next day shipping to arrive in time for a flight. When I got it, I found that the device itself was split along one of the seams on the side. It was hard to push back together and would not hold -- it was clearly assembled wrong. I suspect it may have been refurbished or something.
In any case, when I plugged it in to charge, the light shone red and the on/off button doesn't even push in.
Totally useless lump of plastic.
Disappointing purchase,

From the very moment I noticed that loading time was only 1 hour 40 minutes on the 3rd charge I knew something was wrong. The unit seems to be defected,it can hardly recharge my Black Berry and loses all power, imagine this bulky and heavy thing for only one recharge. I will try to return to amazon, even though I live in Venezuela.
Great portable power pack,

I was searching for a replacement power source after my Black & Decker had recently failed. This is perfect and even better than the prior. Lithium Ion which is better and last longer, holds a charge longer, and even charges faster.
At first I was skeptical but once I tried it out, I loved it. I use it to recharge my USB devices such as my phone or my mp3 player or my laptop in case I need a charge while Im on the road.
Ive used this to recharge my camera, mp3 player, cell phone, and even my bluetooth headset.
Decent if you can get for $40-$50 as they were in March 2009,

Let me say that i really only use this as a spare battery, not as an inverter...
The internal battery is rated at about 44 watt-hours and it does a decent job putting out AC power- while charging/powering my Samsung netbook i think it transferred over about 30 watt-hours of power, maybe a little less...the problem with this seems to be if you only use the 2 USB power ports, as there must be a fair amount of overhead....using just one USB port and nothing else, i was able to recharge my Samsung myShot cellphone(3.7 volts x 750 mah battery) only about 3 times, which is about the same as my little 4 x AA nimh cheapy "battery extender" cell phone charger(that you can get on ebay for about $6) can manage - and the 4 x AA nimh's only contain about a total of 14 watt-hours of power...
i bought 3 of these back in February and one conked out after about a month, probably because of my fault- if you charge them until the green light goes on and unplug and then plug-in again they will start to charge again but this is probably a mistake if you attempt to do this and you may damage the internal battery or the electronics....the other two are still going strong and i use them probably 5 times a week....
for some reason these were very cheap ($35-$40) around beginning of 2009 and if you can get them at that price they might be a good deal, but at the current ~$80 (as of late August 2009, they are a marginal buy unless you plan to use as a power inverter as well....there is also a Duracell model that seems to be identical to this that gets slightly better reviews, not sure why...
