Great comp but a few flaws,
by Kristina M. Peltin, 2010-06-14
This computer is BEAUTIFUL, very nice design. It has some cool features like the face-recognition (my boyfriend LOVES that). It's smooth and stylish, and pretty fast. My few problems with it are 1- there's no CD thing so you can't watch DVD's, burn CD's, etc. without paying like $100 for an external thing. Also, the speakers are awful. We got the computer for my boyfriend and I to communicate long distance on Skype and the volume isn't loud enough and his speakers suck. I can never hear him really great without him being really really close. Sometimes his voice goes in and out, and we have no idea why.
Besides those things, it's a great computer. My boyfriend has been able to use it for school and browse the web a ton, and it's all very easy-to-use and comfortable.
Great buy,

This was on sale so even though it would have been worth the full price. This is the laptop that I found to have the best price to weight ratio, because I needed something VERY light and I really wanted to stay away from getting a netbook. This has all the characteristics I was looking for: light, skype friendly (web-camera and built in microphone), long battery life, fast (lot of RAM). I was slightly concerned when I saw bad reviews and a lot of people complaining about the mouse pad, but i've been pleasantly surprised that I haven't had any problem with it. I figured I was going to get a wireless mouse anyways, but I've actually been converted and enjoy using the mouse-pad because i'm usually on the couch or bed with my laptop so an actual mouse wouldn't be that convenient. So I recommend this highly.
very light,

Very light pc,very energy efficient, ideal for travel. It meets my need as a result. The only negative is the finger prints marks left over after use. I am constantly cleaning it.
I rearly use cds and my apps are usually downloaded or on my pendrives so no drive is not an issue. On the accassion where I need to install from a cd, I use another pc, share the drive and install,so consider this issue carefully when deciding.
Love this laptop!!!,

I bought this laptop last month. At first the sound quality was very low and awful, but there's a download at the Toshiba website to fix that. I like the use of the long hours(up to 9 hours 22 minutes as indicated)on battery. The price for this laptop is excellent too. So far I'm pleased with my Toshiba laptop.
Very poor quality,

Laptop's keyboard would not work properly right out of box. WiFi works intermitently at best, will often not connect at all. Toshiba service wanted me to wipe and restore the os to "verify the issues were not related to software" I had installed after purchase even though I had told them the keyboard malfunctioned the first time I turned it on. Very disappointed in quality and support.
