Customer Reviews

Very Reliable Software,
by Michael J. Clapsis, 2010-07-26

Quick shipping from Amazon. Very pleased with the installation from Windows 7 RC. I decided to go clean install rather than the work-around and glad I did. I was able to keep any files I had from the previous version. Programs had to be reinstalled but it's a good idea to start fresh every couple of years. Works great!

runs so much more stable than Vista,
by Kurt Zimmermann, 2010-07-26

I upgraded from Microsoft Vista professional to Windows 7 ultimate, because I was fed up with Vista losing my internet connection all the time.
I did it as an install-over, not a "clean installation". I tried to avoid having to re-install all my programs, and it seems to be all good now.
Installation was easy, no significant problems, and the system runs great now.

Awesome product but at a heavy price,
by jh20001, 2010-07-22

Windows 7 is an amazing product. Ultimate edition however is not worth it unless your upgrading from Vista Ultimate and simply don't have time or patience for a fresh install. Else, Ultimate (imo) is a waste of money and you would be better off with Windows 7 Professional. The differences are minimal and for most people unimportant. Regardless of what version you have, if you compare Windows to any other OS out there (ie linux, mac, freebsd, google, etc), Windows is by far the most expensive OS on the market. I have multiple computers and after upgrading 2 of them, I'm tapped out. Windows 7 is an amazing OS for Microsoft, but it's simply not worth it for the price to get too crazy with it. For the price they charge for it (general retail), they should allow you to install it on up to at least 3 computers. I think that would justify it.

Worse than ever.,

more blue screens and frozen screens than ever. windows is getting worse and worse with every version.

Immediate Improvements,
by james kocot, 2010-06-25

I used PC Mover to facilitate the upgrade and it, and the upgrade, worked like a charm. It's early, but everything I had is working faster and better than before, and I'm no longer limited by programs that could not work with 64bit XP.
