Good performance, bad screen,
by A. Papour, 2010-07-25

This laptop gives me the performance I seek for with the right price. Long battery life and light weight makes it even more convenient however there are some issues that hold me from giving it a perfect score.

First, if you do not intend to play games on this laptop, I would not recommend buying a dual graphics laptop at all.
The graphics card is capable and delivering the goods. Don't expect miracles but it sure helped me passing the time with fun racing and shooter games.

The build quality is good but not perfect. I already accidentally dropped it 3 feet high and nothing really happened to it, however the keyboard quality is mediocre. The plastic net that surrounds the keys is flimsy, doesn't give the keyboard rigidity and I cannot understand it existence. The keyboard has some flexibility but the keys are stable and easy to type on.

The second annoyance / quality issue is the screen. The screen is sup-bar and underperformed any modern screen that I've seen, especially for LED back lit LCD.
There are two issues with the screen, the viewing angle is not satisfying and every time I change my viewing position I have to readjust the screen's tilt. The second issue, which is more severe, is the screen's color rendition. I have compared the colors of items like the Kitchen-Aid artisan mixer here on Amazon with two different laptops and was really disappointed with this screen. I even tried a special monitor calibration wizard. If you are looking for a quality screen, this is absolutely not the case.

A Great Budget Laptop,
by Nelson, 2010-07-19

This laptop really lives up to expectations. Great build quality, speed, battery life is as good as expected, and screen is clear and crisp. I also like the chiclet-style keyboard as well, but the trackpad is a little iffy and tempermental, but easy to use nonetheless.

I'm still figuring out where I find my MS Office registration code!! (Can someone point that out for me?)

Light, speedy, and nice featured laptop.,
by Neil Troy, 2010-07-16

I bought this laptop to replace a 15" high-resolution Dell that was broken and I am quite pleased with it. I mainly use this laptop to do mathematical computing and web browsing while away from my desktop. To be fair, I removed the 500 GB drive immediately and installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 on a high performance solid state drive (SSD). I could not be happier with the upgrade, the laptop makes no noise at all without the hard drive and when the fan kicks in I can't hear it over the background noise of the environment. As an idea of the performance these are the numbers from the Windows Experience Index: 4.9, 5.5, 4.9, 5.9, & 7.3 (due to the SSD). I find it speedy for everything I do and with the addition of the SSD it boots from completely off to Windows in about 20 seconds and loads everything ridiculously quick. The laptop is light but still has enough weight that I don't feel its fragile. I don't anticipate using the graphics switching button but one never knows maybe it will improve some performance when doing 3d plots in Matlab. I like the port placement on everything except the power adapter but that is minor and probably me being ADD more than anything. I've been using the laptop sporadically all day (maybe 20 minutes every hour with hibernating it in between) and now its almost 9 p.m. and it still says I have 6+ hours left on the battery. Here's a breakdown of my opinion for those that like it:

Pros -
- Light and small but sturdy
- Fast considering price, size, and battery life
- Fairly bright screen
- I really enjoy the keyboard's feel

Annoyances -
- Screen resolution, I'd like to see a 1080p laptop coming in at 13.3" that wasn't outrageously priced
- Touchpad is a little quirky but you get use to it
- I'd like to see a lit keyboard with adjustable brightness but that's getting a little greedy
- Fingerprint magnet

To sum up if you get this I'd recommend getting an SSD instantly and putting the 500GB in an external adapter, that being said you are still getting a very competent laptop for the size and price.

The best,
by Mario Sanchez Celedon, 2010-07-09

This simply is the BEST LAPTOP I'VE EVER OWNED!

I get so many compliments and interest from other people due to its stylish looks and fast performance.
Haven't let me down yet, and so lightweithed.

The only downside is that the plastic surface of the palmrest and screen frame gets easily scratched.

Great product

Good laptop,
by T. Zhou, 2010-07-06

It is pretty light compared with other 13" laptops. Although the CPU is only 1.33G, it is enough for my routine jobs, including games.
